Anyway, it was a strange dream
I wonder what it meant.
It was dark
because I recall the car's dashboard lights
We parked
Some kind of carnival
drawing us in
Its noise and promise of a good time
and its bright lights
The umpapa of the merry-go-round
Its wooden horses
Children smiling
going up and down
Over there, a tall Ferris wheel
with strangers
going round and round
The world was spinning, dizzy
but the earth, stationary and dirt
We bought cotton candy
and I watched you smile
as you took a bite
I asked, "So what do you want to do next?"
I won a stuffed animal for you
hitting the target on my last attempt
You clenched the teddy bear in your hand
Then, we ran
At first, I thought it was just a race
No, we were definitely being chased
Ghouls or men
I couldn't tell
as we punched and kicked
Getting free
We ran and ran and ran
between the cars
then down some street
until we came to some bridge
The water seemed inviting
So I guess, we jumped in
We floated in the stream
perhaps it was a pond
or maybe it was in a bed
I gazed into your eyes
I touched your hair
and breasts.
